CreatSpace is a Print On Demand publisher which was purchased by Amazon and has been incorporated into their fulfillment systems. Your POD manuscript will be printed, packaged, shipped and paid for within the Amazon system. It will qualify for free shipping for Amazon Prime members and show in the rating and review process.
Amazon collects the money, extracts their fee, and sends you a check for the balance. If you generate some sales from your own efforts you could actually sell your books without ever spending a dime.

- You have to format your manuscript yourself (using a Word Template) and select the fonts, layout, cover art and other features which a publisher would otherwise do for you. If you already know how to use a word processor the publishing system will not be especially difficult.
- You will have to figure out how to market your book. Simply having it available on Amazon will probably not create any sales; at least immediately.
